What are most using for a tach a dapter with a MSD unit? Is it the 8910 or 8920? Do you have to use the diode supplied with the 6AL?

depends on what distributor you're using.
Mine is an 8920 adapter with a MSD small cap distributor.
When you refer to the 'diode' do you mean the rev limit module? No you don't have to use it but then you don't have any rev limit. I recently switched to a MSD-8672 variable selector (6,000-8,200 in 200 rpm increments) and plugs straight into the module recepticle.
