My Kodiaks arrived today
Beautiful wheels!
One thing has me quite worried, though. Have any of you guys who purchased the wheels noticed on the paperwork from Kodiak it says:
"Racing use only" and "off-road use only" ??
Does this mean that these wheels are not legal and/or safe to run on the street?
My P is a weekend cruiser only. It will never see a race track.
I know Jim (Coz) has these wheels on his GT5 and that is a daily driver. He hasn't had any problems with them (that I know of).
What do you guys think?
Adam
It is a dis-claimer since they are not US-DOT certified. The expense involved for the certification is rediculious. So Daryle has chosen not to do it. I agree with his decision no to.
Nothing to worry about. I have had my wheels on my car for almost a year. Been on the road at least 12,000 miles now, and track, nothing has happened. They are as perfect as the day I got them.
That is the least of your worries Adam....

Well, it all makes sense now
Thanks Jim.
BTW, my tires came in today. Will have them mounted and balanced asap. I cannot wait to see them on the car. They are simply awesome wheels (as you know, Jim).
Take care,
Adam
The quality of these wheels is amazing. I am blown away by how nice they came out.
Many thanks to Jim (Coz) for getting the group buy together. If it wasn't for his help getting the prices down, I would not have been able to afford them.
Thanks Jim! (I'll see ya soon.......hopefully!)

My car is actually 2 hrs away from me right now. It has been at Les Grays shop (Vehicle Performance Center) for 2 months now getting a bunch of work done. I drove the wheels up to him and he is going to mount and fully align everything for me.
I should have the car back in 4-6 weeks.
I will definitely post pics when she is home.

Here's what mine look like. Finally got them mounted today. They are the "RT" style, 17x11 and 17x8.5 with Michelin Pilot Sports 335/35/17 and 245/40/17.
Still waiting for the center caps.

Mike,
WICKED LOOKING I dig the polished bright work on the car. Please post pics w/center caps! (I know, they aren't finished yet )

I was wondering what they would look like on a stock body (2 thumbs up)

Hey, How about one of you guys with the new wheels set the different sizes on a scale and give us a weight. I know my wheels are going to be heavier, but by how much?

Okay LPB,
Dragged my Kodiaks out the boxes and weighed;
STX style 17" x 10" front = 19 lbs; 18" x 13" rear = 20.5 lbs.
Take these weights as you will, I used my wife's bathroom scales and they have been known to 'lie' sometimes
