I was invited to show the Pantera at the Nascar Technical Institute's open house. The car was parked beside the "Grave Digger" monster truck. The Pantera drew the largest crowd all day. Mostly a younger bunch but the asked intelligent questions and were really interested in the car.

Steve beat most of use to the DeTomaso punch. He bought his 'Goose wrecked in a North Carolina yard for $1,800 after talking the guy down from $2,500 because parts would be hard to get, that was 1969. He got some parts sent from Italy and fixed the front fender with fiberglass. He said he saw the car advertised for sale years later as "never wrecked". It just wasn't a good "short track" car...
