Time to replace the old Autolite, I think. It's a bone stock engine in a '72 pre-L, and it stumbles if I give it too much gas. The carb's been rebuilt once before. What's a good replacement?
If the carburetor is a Autolite/Motorcraft 4300D (spread bore) there is no direct replacement, replacement will require a change of intake manifolds too.
In my opinion there is no better carb for a stock motor than the 4300D.
