This "mint" sign has been posted for quite some time now on ebay...
Take a close look at the 2 auction photos...
As photo #1 shows what looks like warpage ? / damage at the bottom edge, in the middle of the sign, below the "E"...
Now look at photo #2. No damage. But the plastic looks very "yellowed" from age to me...
Two different sides of the sign, I might suggest.....
Even if it was perfect at $7,500 that's nuts.
Either that pricing is absurd or I am terribly unfamiliar with the automobilia market.
This is the 'I really don't want or have to sell this, but if there is someone desparate and rich enough to pay this for it, I will sell it' price.
I feel like many classic cars are currently priced that way. It's difficult to tell what the market price is for anything given all of the eBay "auctions" that have absurd prices and just keep getting relisted when no one takes the buy it now price or hits reserve.
I think this generally skews the market upward due to people who do want to sell their stuff attempting to use these as guideposts for their pricing. I like watching Bring a Trailer auctions for this reason. Those give a more accurate view of market value.

Yes. I got no interest at all at 2 ish.
One on eBay for $1,500 OBO, not perfect but then again nor is the $7,500 one. $1.5-2K has historically been the going rate, although I see Barrett Jackson sold one in 2013 for $3,800.
I went and looked at that one on ebay and got notification that the seller dropped the price to $1,500.
I don't know what's a good deal on them but this would seem to be to me?
It looks like there are going to be a bunch that are under water now at that price? Mine would be.
I'd guess that they are at a point where many aren't even going to bother with selling theirs?
It's a big sign and was intended to hang from the ceiling in the showroom so I think that turns off many since they just have no where to show it? Maybe some will show up on "American Pickers" in piles of useless trash in the back of a shed and will get sold off or 50 bucks? Who knows?
