P.I. Mufflers

Paul,
I too saw the mufflers and tips you speak of and am interested in a set. I have the same questions. If anyone has experience with these mufflers please reply

I installed a set of these on my 72 GT5 with 550HP and they sound great! I originally had BIG BORE mufflers which were very loud then used dual outlet flowmasters, also too loud. These sound better than anything else and very close to factory mufflers. The only problem I see is the tips recess to go inside muffler outlets and the 6" pipe out of the muffler is not stainless or even chromed,so you can see what looks like 6" plain steel pipe between Beautiful stainless chrome mufflers and tips. I really do love the sound I hope this helps. I would like to know I anyone knows how to solve that..

I received a set of these tips for Xmas (best present under the tree!!), & plan to install them in the spring. What is the best way to install these tips on a stock Ansa exhaust? Should I just cut the old tips off with a cut-off wheel & weld them on? Also, won't I have to grind some of the chrome off to weld them? I want it to look as close to "factory" as I can. I purchased a pair of mufflers and a set of ss tips about a year ago and I like them a lot.I had Jerry cut and weld the tips on to look just like the original ANSA mufflers.I havn't experienced any rusting or corosion but my car is a fair weather auto.I made up some brackets to mount the hanger to and sent it off to the custom shop for custom tailpipes which cost about 250.00 they done a very good job and the pipes are stright.I wish they were just a little more throaty...
