I've got my 72 back from the upholstery shop and I took it to a reputable painter for complete body and paint. I've seen many beautiful Panteras on this site and most of them have used a single color or dual color scheme. I can paint the car almost any color(s) I want. My question: What about a paint combination similar to the old Cobras-with the dual competition stripes across the hood, roof and trunk areas in a color that either compliments or contrasts with the main body color, e.g., red body with white stripes etc. Or perhaps, a dark blue metalic with silver stripes. Comments??

Bob,
Thanks for the pics. I was at the paint shop today and the owner had used masking tape to get an idea of stripe placement and width. Even the tape mock-up looked good! We're going to use two 9" wide parallel stripes similar to the #25 car.
Thanks for your assistance.

Paint schemes, Part II
In my search for different paint schemes and color combinations I believe I have found a first class paint and body shop just 30 minutes from my home. I spent several days going back and forth to his shop and saw many Ferraris and Corvettes in various stages of completion. I was honestly impressed, not only with his work, but with his philosophy on car painting.
He believes a car like the Pantera deserves attention and to do that he wants to avoid "conventional" ho hum paints themes. My suggestion of a medium blue metalic with white racing stripes "won't ever be what you want", he says. Apparently what "I" want is "Viper Yellow body with black semi-gloss or satin racing stripes. Giving this approach considerable thought after about 10 beers, and smelling isocyanate fumes for about 6 hours suddenly life , in general made sense.. Viper yellow it shall be!!!
