pantera 1056

DT 1056 is an early pushbutton Pantera, built in March of '71. The first 75 or so cars were really pre-production prototypes; this one is #56 built. It is a rare car but restoration (if it needs much) will be costly since lots of parts on such cars were quite different from those on the production machines. Body parts, trim pieces, suspension and interior parts may be almost non-existent. If someone has converted it to GT-5 specs, most of its rarity & curiosity-value is gone unless its a true factory conversion with history. Real GT-5s were built from 1980 on. The stock crank will support at least 500 real horsepower, most Pantera Clevelands had 4-bolt main caps that were exactly as strong as the 2-bolt blocks but no stronger. And after 32 years, who knows whats in the engine now? The stocker was a high compression, closed-chamber-head engine of over 300 horsepower. Engine parts are still available in the U.S..
