Our logic last year was to find a place that was as close as possible to being equally (in)convenient to everyone. I'm open to a new location as long as it isn't wildly far for anyone. Smaller locations are more likely to be able to accomodate our cars and needs, while not requiring that we get caught in big traffic jams.

Niagara Falls is nice, but its a really long drive for some. Kingston was, it seemed to me, a reasonable compromise.
Kingston was pretty far for Wayne and others. This year there will be 10 or 11 from Montreal and Ottawa alone, and Niagara is a quite a ride for us. I guess it depends who's coming and from where.

I'm open to go anywhere that makes sense. Wherever we go, we might want to make it a little earlier to ensure nice weather.

Why not get together soon for an informal meet somewhere - just to say hello and talk about this year's event.
Surpisingly enough, there are as many CDN Pantera owners who do not use this board as those that do.

We have just sent out information to them by snail mail. No sense voting with less than half the constituents represented. We will start with some informal meets, see when we can get the biggest turnout and then pick the right location to achieve that.
I really liked the Kingston event last year. It was very well organized and attended. I would like again recognize the great contribution that David B. (deeb) made with the help of Mark C. and Robert De. To ensure a repeat success, I am most interested to hear their opinions.

I do like the idea of possibly doing it at or near a track - but their will be the associated additional costs. There already is the Pocano event. Nevertheless, there are two tracks that quickly come to mind - Tremblent and Mosport.

In my mind I think we need to answer a fundamental question eventually - although it may be too early right now: Do we want to hold the event at the same place and time every year or do we want it to move around?

There are positives and negatives to both sides. Holding it at the same place/same time reduces the organizing burden and also ensures a level of support from the public (eg. municipalities) and private (eg. hotels) sector. The downside is the effort to overcome the "staleness" factor.

Moving the event around overcomes the staleness factor and improves the visibility of the event by bringing it more "locally" with the cost of the organizational burden.

I like the idea of getting together informally and discussing it.

Yes Mark, I have been told that the Pocanos have some nice "Honeymoon" places. I am very sure the wives will enjoy the spas and the opportunity to relax.

An a second Yes: I know about some other tracks but it is a question of being politically correct (I like Watkin's Glen NY as well)

Might be a discussion point... Moving to various track sites year by year. There is a Ferrari get together at Tremblant already.

There are many tracks available close by and some are very reasonable. However, I would venture to say that of the 20 or so CDN owners who will attend our next event, less than 5 would put their cars on the track - even if we had first rate instructors, a 5-star catered BBQ, air conditioned tents to relax in and pole dancers to entertain in the paddock.

I think you're right. I don't know why most don't want to track their car, but it wouldn't make sense to have it based around a track if nobody will go out.
I don't mind where it is. I appreciate the efforts of those who take the time to organise it. As long as it's not too far, I'll be there.

In my opinion I think what took place last fall was great. I'm one that would not (although enjoy watching) be on the track, I find from seeing others that do organize track days, literaly run none stop all day making sure that all safety procedures are respected and that every catagory driver gets on at the right time and WATCH EVERYONE ELSE HAVE A GREAT TIME while they are busy. Not to pleasant for them. The way we did it,everyone had the chance to sit together and enjoy. Another thing how many cars would have to participate to make it reasonably affordable? I would think more than 50. I do believe that a nice run on a country road would do it. Rob6145
