I have the same setup. Could you do me a favor, and measure the top and bottom diameters of the K&N Filter?

Mine is tapered, and it seems like it is a little smaller than it should be. I want to find out if my parts are the same as what you have, or if my filter is not optimal.

Rocky, yes mine tapers too, 13 1/4" bottom and 12 7/8" top (assuming it tapers toward the top). So this must be the correct K&N for this application.

Putting a bunch of stuff on ebay, will probably include this just to get things gone. I'm tripping over things! Very few Pantera bits though.

My filter is 12 3/4" at the bottom, and 12 1/4" at the top....

Actually, it's just a fitting for a crankcase breather. See it there under the dipstick?

I THINK those bases are just "aftermarket/speed shop" Chevy "L88" bases?

I'm pretty sure I have one around here somewhere? It's a "punch out" I believe and you have a two bolt set up that just bolts your nipple on?

Tapered filter? No wonder mine never fit right

Though my filter is tapered and was bought for the car, I really don't understand the 'need' for it to taper. It also rests about a half inch inside the housing lip, so not exactly perfect there, yet it does compress under the screen.

MikeMayberry - I included literally thousands in parts when my car sold but I have a few bits, namely -

1) 6 super clean, refinished, 7" wheels. All later version. $100 each or all for $500.
2) Pantera tool bag, new, built from identical pattern to OEM. $100.
3) Shift knob, OEM
4) Stainless door strikers (inside jamb, whatever those are.) $50pr
5) Becker Europa, VERTICAL DIAL. ($600)

And about 8 boxes of Jaguar E type, Series 1 parts
And a Ferrari 512BB rear clamshell
And 2 Porsche 911 Carrera/SC front fenders
And about 20 more boxes of stuff that somehow followed me home.

Will look for other Pantera parts as I trudge my way through the recesses of the garage.

Kidding. You got it. Will be moving some stuff around this weekend and get back to you.

You - or whomever snags these other wheels - is going to be very happy. They were properly cleaned, sealed, annealed, resprayed in a micron fine silver, re cleared. These are not the normal scruffy wheels you see.

I realize this only proves my current state of dysfunction, but I'd also sell or trade the E type toward a Z8, possibly a 993tt.

Hey guys, sorry I was involved in a long project yesterday - I imagine that - and unable to reply.

GOO9E I did get your PM, plus two more offers on the Becker, apparently a popular piece.

Thanks for those who want the wheels; all are now spoken for with a backup offer should anyone falter.

Gone too is the tool bag and whatever else it was that Mike wanted.
