Pantera L front bumper wanted

I have a fiberglass bumper in the L style ... might be your only option mostly all of them are warped.

There is a bumper on Ebay now. The photo's don't look to bad?

A fiberglass bumper may be in my future if I cant find an original. The ebay bumper seller is supposed to sending me a better picture to see how wavy it is, it looks a little wavy but can not tell.

Nearest I can tell is that they were made new with waves in them...if that's what you mean by being warped?

I put a fiberglass one on mine since I am in the minority and like them with the spoiler built into them.

My original is here but it isn't going to fix your problem either.

I have a few fiberglass ones for sale.

By warped or wavy I am referring to the top center section above the front lid, that gets warped or wavy from the sun here in AZ. I have a near perfect one on #5756 and am trying to find another to use on a different car. Thanks!

Jim (of Willcox, AZ) has a fiberglass bumper, I am envious of how straight it is.

I have rather perfect L front and rear bumpers for sale but the parts are located in germany. So shipping costs will be a big problem....

FWIW, stock rubber L bumpers were made with a large flat steel bar under the rubber. That (and the hydraulic shock mounts) are why the thing weighs so much. What happens over time is, the rubber coating shrinks up and most did not quite cover all areas underneath; water gets in. Rust expands the steel and bingo- you got waves from rust swelling under the smooth rubber.

A few owners have fixed the problem by cutting away the rubber where its wavy, derusting the steel bar, then regluing what left of the OEM rubber and finally, recoating the whole bumper-face with liquid rubber. No, I don't remember what brands or where they got the supplies but there was a POCA Tech article on it decades ago.

I looked at the problem on our '72 L, and bought a fiberglas replica that's 20 lbs lighter. Few pristine rubber bumpers exist and none are cheap. Shipping is a problem due to the sheer size & weight- truck express is often the only option. Be prepared.

Shipping is not as bad as you may think. I just returned one to the L.A. area from Phoenix and it was only around $55. FedEx. I think Germany may be a bit much but will try to get an estimate to see. Thanks, Glenn

i have a brand new one.I got it in Italy years ago so it was for a european model pantera and so it mounts alittle different but looks the same as american version.I will give it away for $500.plus shiping.

I have several original ones although king's price is very good. If you are trying to keep your car original, the euro is the same exact size but is missing the impact shock mounting front plugs.
