This is a guy who has probably promised his wife that he will sell the car because he has spent so much on it. What his wife doesn't know is that he has been keeping two mistresses for the past 5 years on the $180K that has gone from their joint bank account. The car is probably a heap of rust that has had no work done on it at all. She'll catch him eventually.
I'm sorry, but as much as I love Panteras, this thing looks like some teenager's "ricer" project. What's with the snowplow on the front? $32,000 paint....yeah, if you really want to pay that much for a $5,000 job I guess you can.

I also think the "jacked up" look in the back is too '70s "wannabe muscle car".

And, he obviously wants MORE than the $180,000 he is asking for a starting bid.

Oh, yeah....
Joe;

$3200 was the cost of the paint alone. The paint job cost him $32,000.

I build large scale replicas of cars (1/12 and 1/8). I learned a lot about painting my models from being a partner in a restoration shop years ago. When I prep a model body and paint and polish it for a museum or contest/show car, the paint has to be perfect when examined from 2-3 inches under bright reflective light. These jobs take many hours, but unless there was major bodywork to be done on a 1:1 Pantera, I can't imagine spending $32000 to prep and paint it. For that price I would expect that every square inch be flawless when viewed up close and through magnification.

No one is that crazy! Although, if anyone out there wants a perfect paint job and has money to burn, I guess I might even be tempted by that kind of money
I have a nice 1974 with an average paint job. Ill knock $40,000.00 off so you can have it painted any color you want and I will also knock another $40,000.00 so you can fix any mechanical problems. Therefore, I will reluctantly sell this fine piece of history for the mere pittance of $100,000.00. Act fast, I have a feeling it will sell quickly.
