The manufacturer of Hypercool sent me these video links. Hypercool has been going through testing in Germany with the local Ferrari clubs and also an autobahn Ferrari rental company.

This is a video of their Ferrari 360 test car going up against a Pantera. Kind of boring, all you can see is the rear of the Pantera for most of the video:

That wasn't Dennis Q unless he was driving someone elses' car. Don't think DQ gets to Germany very often but that Pantera waived bye-bye to the F 360 on every straight but looked like it was being being driven fairly conservatively in the corners, -braking pretty early. Driver may have been less familiar with the track or just valued his car.

I guess the Ferrari collected the PCar shortly before Ferrari ended up in the gravel pit at the end vid?

That WAS Dennis' car. It is not Germany it is Road America ,the world’s fastest permanent road course located in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin - midway between the cities of Milwaukee and Green Bay and only minutes from the shores of Elkhart Lake and Lake Michigan.

Yikes, can't be more wrong than that. Dennis would know that course well. I obviously don't. You can't see the car very well but rear spoiler and induction system are as I saw his car last. Car looks almost black in the vid. Not Dennis current paint scheme is it?

Ron, was that the tube frame car Dennis has always campaigned? Would this have been recent footage?

I really enjoyed the video. Thank-you

Who was it that said, "To finish first, first you have to finish."?

I am not sure that the DeT Pantera had anything to give the 360 in the corners. Timing between the two appeared to be close in corners and on short straights. Certainly on the long straights the 360 did not have the legs the DeT had.

I wonder whether driver differences had a role to play here more than the car. The 360 driver appeared to brake deeper in the corners. On some corners his line was wider than the DeT. On the attempted passes in the corners, with an inside line, he cannot hold the position. In the end, possibly his braking made the ass end unweight (what appears to be at turn entry) to the point he spun it. He may have been driving more "on the edge" than the DeT guy. He certaily took advantage of traffic to finally get by the DeTomaso.

In any case ... "To finish first, first you have to finish.".

I love the '49 Caddy Panameriana race car that lifts it's inside front left wheel in that left hand turn 7:53 into the video. Great footage!

I don't think the F-car was any faster than the P-car through the corners. It looked like Dennis was braking early - maybe he's not running 15" diameter carbon ceramic brake rotors with 6-piston monobloc calipers.

Anyway, exciting video!

It's Dennis Quella of Pantera Performance in Castle Rock, CO. It's a fiberglass body on a tube frame.
