i was wondering how many of us are not THAT surprized to see on on the road as i did last weekend ... who has a neighbour with one or see often a close buy living companion ?
Or are we all that spreaded and lonely ?
Gatherings don't count here, we have seen a hundred at Spa-Italia but never in daily traffic ...
Wonder if small towns have enough crazy people to have more then 1 Pantera Smiler
who knows who ?

We are 10 cars in the city.(3 of them are not driven) I can say it was a nice surprise when I crossed Jonathan on the divided highway last summer or when I met (new) Joe unexpectedly at an outdoor show. Other surprise was 3 years ago when Mike came to my neighbour's house with his as he rarely takes his out.
Believe it or not, within a carefully placed circle of about 25 miles radius, here in the rust belt state of New Hampshire (including a bit of nearby Massachusetts and Maine), there are about 14 Panteras that I have actually seen, and a few more rumored to exist that I haven't seen.

Of these, at last count, I think maybe six are roadworthy.

Excepting times a couple of us have set out together, only once did I catch another Pantera out on it's own. I was taking the scenic route home down Ocean Boulevard after a car show in Rye, NH. I flicked on my directional, checked my mirror to execute the turn towards home and right behind me was another P-car.

He tootled and continued on straight, and I thought, darn, now I'll never figure who it was.

Couple weeks later I brought the Pantera to the NHMS for a HPDE day. While I was waiting to get registered a fellow walked up and asked if I may have been down on the beach earlier. And so I met Hugh, owner of a red '72.

Haven't seen him or the car since.
There are 22 Belgian Pantera's I know of (the cars, not all of the owners). On February 23 I spotted a yellow one close to where I live, one I did not know of yet, but by the time I got home, I forgot its license plate (I was out for a bicycle training). This was only the second time in my life I saw one "in the wild". Two years ago I got passed by an SI on a highway close to Antwerp.

Closest to me I know of, is Suburb (half an hour from my place), and the previous owner of mine does have two, and lives about 40 minutes from my place. Other than these two, I'm not aware of any owner living close by.
We are pretty lucky here in Tucson.... although the Phoenix area is even more heavily populated with P-Cars....

We have me, Wade, Jim, Rick, Dave G., Andy, Sean, Dale, Steve and Tom B. that get together for events.

We have ~7 cars that get out (one is track only).

I know of 6 more cars in the area that have not been seen for a while, but we are working on those guys. One car is reported to be the Pink Playboy Pantera! If true, it would require a shake-up in the Provamo registry!

Unfortunately, Liv is no longer driving it.

I recall seeing a black pushbutton at a service station over in east Brunswick area, believe it was the Owner of the stations car -- same one?

I also know of 2 other Panteras within 20 miles of me- old friends of my fathers. I keep in touch with one, keep tabs on the other. Well I guess 3 others now- Firstpantera you are probably 10-15 miles from me.

Now that I have 9311 back on the road maybe we'll run into each other.

Doobwaa, it has to be the same one. The guy owns 2 repair stations, one in Milltown, and one in North Brunswick. Saw the car in Milltown as I was driving mine and decided to stop in and chat but he "didn't have time for me". Havent seen it in 2-3 years.

This is an interesting topic.

The Chuck Melton registry says the Playboy Pantera is #2421.

ProvaMo Link on the Playboy Pantera

2421 is no longer pink, now it is red and black. At the bottom of the listing, somehow, GP noted that this car (#2421) was once the Playboy Pantera........

Amazingly enough, the entire description and sales article from 2009 makes absolutely no mention of the pedigree of this car. That is what I find surprising. If I owned this car, I would be shouting it's lineage to high heaven for the sale....

....but..........

In March of 2014, we met a Pantera owner in Benson, AZ that claimed to own the Playboy Pantera. He says it is now white. Since he doesn't seem to answer emails, I have been unable to follow up on his claims. I want to believe that Arizona is the home of the two sexiest Panteras, the Playboy Pantera, and "Squeaky Clean" (confirmed to be in in Phoenix)....

There are at least ten in the Miami area. Five are owned by the same gentleman. I know he drives them, he just bent a set of rods in one of the Panteras. I drive my daily (unless its raining, then back to the turbo Smart). I have talked with several guys who said they are in the restoration process of their Panteras. That being said I have only seen two Panteras on the road in the last 10 years.
I have lived in Florida 7 years and have seen 2 one I saw when I got the number from a guy at the radiator shop that boiled my gas tank... he did one the week before for a Pantera (the guy left the state). The other was going down us1 in Stuart (I was going the other way).
By the way the guys from the Northern California Chapter asked me to talk about our chapter meetings in Florida (I attended their monthly meeting while I am out here working). I am embaressed to admit it I said "well if you guys (from CA)show up in FL we will have a meeting at my house we don't have meeting as far as I know in Florida", Why is it we don't get together at least once in a while? It seems every time there is an event(3 a year) I get called out, I know I /we work to much. How about I ask who would be interested to come to Port Saint Lucie FL for a tech/clean session?
+I have known of about 90 drivable Detomaso's in Arizona that I have seen in the past. I am sure that some have been sold and some new ones have come in. But about 7 years ago we counted a total of about 180 total in Arizona. This included many that are projects, or in pieces, etc. I know one doctor that has four in storage that have not moved since they were driven in 18 years ago.
