Simon's car collection is unbelievable. It's got to be one of the most impressive and extensive collection of DeTomaso's in the world. You've got some other rare and beautiful cars there too Simon. Thanks for sharing those photos. Wow.
Hi ADOBERETREAT, thanks for the nice words.
But there is for sure one or two another DeTomaso Collectors into Germany who have more DeTomaso's than me.

To entice you, here's a photo of "your" Mangusta.
Mark
ha! Great looking shots Mark. Loving the Mangusta, thanks for keeping it for me! Excuse my huge delay in responding, but just moved into 'new' garage. Dear Lord, why did I EVER keep 8,000 totally unusable parts, obscure tools, and useless lengths of wire, unmatable screws and nuts...
Anyway, stuff is finally 'in place' but much more sorting and work required. My 'new to me' place is about 50 miles from old place, now nearer where we live on Lake Martin.
Here are a couple of poor photos...

I was thinking the R8 would be a great year round driver up here. Throw some blizzaks on there and let her rip in the snow!!
Great interior in that car too

Saw 2 R8's in Sweden last winter, knee deep in snow.

Tell your poor suffering wife I'll trade the FGT for the R8 straight up!
Actually called the Ford dealer today about some new car they're building.

Honestly, the R8 is the finest piece of equipment I've ever owned. No kidding. Fabulous exhaust note appeals to my inner redneck. The thing is screwed together pretty well too.
Thumbs up on the R8 fellas
Not 100% sold on the styling of the R8, but more than 100% sold on the engineering. In regards to mid-engine sports cars, the R8 replaced the NSX in terms of a logical/rational choice. Whatever the Asians had done, the Germans did better.

George, most people are extreme car guys. I think there is a legitimate call for an "Other Car" section. Most people here have interest in a variety of cars and interest. Some interest are not even car related. Just my .02c.

Pulling the MGB out west has been fun.

That MG is so clean, just a great lookin' lil' car. The chrome bumper cars are so much nicer...
Thanks,
We joke that we got the RV for the dog. We have pulled the motorcycles but prefer to pull the MG so the dog can go along!

Here's my 1985.5/6 Porsche 944 2.5l NA racer with SCCA ITS prep. First of the series II cars with aluminum control arms and less VW-ish dash. Our VW parts bin Audi 5000 transmission gets the short ROW 5th gear and we run 7x15 Cookies with 225/50R15 Hoosier R7's or Toyo RR's.
We run as Pro44 with Conference / IRDC / SCCA in the Pacific Northwest. We ran as 944 Cup for many years but control our own rule set now under Pro44. Also runs PCA4 and can do Spec 944. 2600lbs with driver and around 150whp... underwhelming acceleration but just enough to stay ahead of the Spec Miata's... But more fun than I've ever had beating down hard on a car
Picture below is preparing to load for last weekend's Portland Rose Cup Races where we ran in the Small Bore group. My tow rig is one of the last Ford E350 Super Duty's built - Feb 2014. From the factory it was sent to Quigley for the Ford warranted 4x4 conversion using the F350 front axle, suspension, brakes and transfer case. Last of Ford vans that can actually pull 7k+ trailers. Lucky for me it sat at the Oregon dealership for a full year until I needed it, and I needed a black one to match trailer and a couple cars
I'm slowly doing a Sportsmobile conversion over time including the pop-top camper.

And my other Black car, 1982 Porsche 930 Turbo track monster with 1994 3.8 RSR bodywork. 2450lb. with half a tank and 385whp/410wtq twisting the 4-speed with short Andial 8:39 R&P. Lots of mods including double adjustable JRZ shocks, 993 Big red brakes etc. Stops and accelerates real good on 275/40R17 front and 315/35R17 rear Hoosiers. The oLd sKoOl Bosh CIS needs to run rich so I get lots of flames out of the 3" dump pipe off the turbo. GT3 killa that hasn't seen the track since I built the 944 winter 2007. With prices moon shooting (bubbling) the past few years, I'm glad I stored all the original parts. Never selling this one, same for Pantera 6007.

Here's some picks of my home made truck moving engines around:

1967 GT 500 I have owned this car for the past 17 years. It had been sitting in a basement garage since 1975 when I located it. The owner had passed away in 75 and the widow just kept it. Took about 4 months to convince her I should be the next caretaker. Did full restoration on it and have been enjoying it ever since.

In the Vegas 100+ degree stop and go traffic I am a little short on cooling capacity in the MGB. I had a couple sheets of the Pantera screen left over and it looks good in the lower valance. This is where the oil cooler is going.

Wow!! An A110!!
Where is PNR?
Indeed, an A110. Probably the smallest car that I can get into and out of, at least at my current age...
One more pic I found online.
PNR = Airport code for Pointe Noire (city).

Thanks Rgr, that was my suspicion on PNR, we don't see many members from The Congo!
So Rgr, Is that a picture of a car show in the Congo? (It's not what I would expect).

Picture is of a car show in the Netherlands (concours d'elegance in Apeldoorn); that is where the A110 and Pantera are. The one in the pictures is mine.
No car shows in the Congo - although the way the taxis drive could qualify for a daily stunt show.

My other car, daily driver, is a Holden SSV. It is one of the last that will be built here in Australia. Our American cousins will know this also as the Chev SS. It is a sad time here, as Australian made cars come to an end. About a week and a half ago, the final Aussie made Chev SS made its way off the line. There are many enthusiasts in the US who love our cars as much as we do. They are powered by the 6.2 LS3 V8(415bhp) with a 6 speed manual trans, Brembo performance brakes, such a great car to drive. The dedicated and passionate Holden employees from the Elizabeth plant in South Australia have built 12,894 Chev SS.

I don't think these have appeared on the forum so far: three of Blackpool's finest:
Left - A TVR Cerbera. A 2+2 Coupe. 4.5 litre V8 of TVR's own design and build (flat plane crank, dry sump). Arguably the first 200mph "production" car. Colour - Halcyon Atlantis (flips Blue to Green). Built 2007.
Middle: TVR Sagaris. 2 seat "hatchback"! 4.2 litre straight 6, again to TVR's own design and build. The last TVR model before the factory shut in 2006/2007. This one built 2005.
Right: TVR Tuscan. 2 seat coupe with targa top that stashes in the boot for when the sun shines (seldom in North Yorkshire!). Same engine as the Sagaris. Colour - Sandox Red Rocket (semi translucent over gloss black). Built 2000
I can post more pics if anyone would like but I don't want to clog up space if you are not!

Wild colors Murry! I love TVR's. I still want a Griffith 200. Very cool.
I am very impressed with TVRs, initially because of their astute marketing.....
As an expat Brit I am of course a TVR fan too, the Griffith 500's will soon be 25 years old and I'd like to find and bring one of the rarer LHD ones into the US.

Remember seeing this clip on Top Gear years ago where the TVR Cerbera totally blew away the Porsche 911 and and a few others, well impressed.

Any kids electric vehicle should have a proper Bomber seat.

Adding lightness to the collection.

Must be go-cart'y fun to drive?
Not sure yet Mikael. Just got delivered and need to get it registered and insured. The suspension of the Elan is quite forgiving so I expect it to be more comfortable than the A-110.
