Your post reminded me of a Delahaye I saw at Pebble Sunday. The rows of louvers on the hood, four of them, tapered ever so slightly. Must have been 40-50 of them, each just a tad longer than the previous one.

Here is photo - not mine - example.

Amazing what tools, time and a skilled fabricator can do - as you have well demonstrated over the years.
