I lightly wet-sanded the top parts (didn't sand any other areas) of my box with 320 grit and used rub-n-buff. Not as good as a pro buff, but great results for a couple of hours work, especially when the box is IN the car.

Hey Jim,
You're probably right about not much extra work to polish the top of the ZF case, but are you including the hours needed to clean all the compound and buffing wheel threads off everything within 10 feet? I tried a small area before I wimped out and that's why I went with "lazy paste" I must be getting old!

He's not kidding. I got a few different compounds (including a nice brick of that white) and I just finished polishing a few little things in the front trunk. I never did this before. So I had the grinder out, two different drills and my dremel. It took longer to clean the garage than polish the brake fluid resvoir cap and a few lines and nuts! But it sure takes the years off the car.

There is a polish paste called "Flitz" this stuff work on everything. If you have a Matco Tool man or know were one is it should be on this truck. Price is 20 dollars a tube. 40 dollars if you get the polish ball and tube. It also works great on tail light lens..!
Matco Part Numbers:
F035155 - For the tube.
