So, what have I learned?

It takes longer to do than expected, but we all knew that. The body under the red paint was a lot better rust wise than feared, but the repair done to the right side at some point, that gave both me and my painter grey hairs. But then again, how many Panteras are out there that never had even the slightest accident?

My main learning has been that even though I made an effort to align everything before paint, spent many hours e.g. on the doors, there were so many other things I should have aligned also. Example, front bumpers. They fit pretty well before, but when I installed them on the painted car, I wanted them as straight and symmetrical as possible. That meant I had to elongate one of the holes. That should have been done before it was painted of course. So, to do the best job, one should actually align everything perfectly while disassembling. Which would take a lot more time, but would save time later.

To those getting ready to paint their Pantera, good luck, it's been an adventure, some days better than others...

And...I never wanted a show car, I want a driver's car, so gotta put some miles and dirt on it now... Arrivederci...
