I've got some questions I hoped the "smart guys" could help me with. First thing is how to link images!

1. Where do the lines 1., 2., 3., go to in my car? I think 2 and 3 go to the front calipers, but wanted to be sure.

2. What's with the crazy little "wings" on the rear caliper assembly? Mine don't seem like I installed them right, they are pushed against the gold caliper body.

3. I have two sets of Proportioning Valves (one from a '71 and one from my '73). Is either easier to disassemble / gut than the other, or should I just remove mine and replace with a "Tee". It looks like the early one uses bubble flares or something.

4. Am I supposed to do something to this (clean the slider inside)?

Thanks for your help.

1. Line 1 goes through the floor of the front trunk (same hole as the clutch line) for the rear brakes.

Lines 2 & 3 go to the front brakes. One goes through the wall of the front trunk for the left front brake, and the other routes
under the master cylinders, behind the battery, and through the wall of the front trunk to the right front brake.

2. See pic below.

3. If you already have the brake lines formed, it would be easier to gut the appropriate proportioning valve. It would be "cleaner"
to use a tee. There have been numerous discussions re removing (or gutting) the proportioning valve, or not to remove it.

4. You can try to remove the shuttle valve, but most of the time it won't come out, but it should be able to move from side to side.
