Relays & Fuse Blocks

Just a reminder - the relay kits don't fix any current problems you may have with your wiring... You mention that you have somewhat of a mess in your car... All it does is unload high current from fragile components (headlight switch and ignition switch), which are noble goals. It won't "fix" existing problems.

You may have known that, but I thought I'd point it out.

Pantera Parts Connection used to refurbish fuse boxes and replace the old fuse connections with newer blade types.

Bob Timma also did a fuse block upgrade. He took a Mitsubishi block and modified it to fit the Pantera. It uses the new plastic type fuses and was fairly easy to install. He charged $75. Unfortunately, I reformatted my harddrive so I don't have his email anymore. I believe his upgrade was on Chuck Melton's page.

The PPC-Reno fuse block installation was documented with photos in an actual car by unskilled labor, in the Oct 02 POCA newsletter. Still available, zero extra parts required, fits in stock location w/stock screws- no holes to drill & uses blade fuses.

If possible, could someone give more info of the parts that are used and how its done? I'd like to get rid of my original setup as well. I have several of the blades on the block that don't exist any more. Thanks!

The Timma fuse block comes from Nissan, not Mitsubishi, unless he has changed. I think I heard Pantera East sells these on his behalf now, and the price went up dramatically. Whereas Rick the information is known, and Rick will give you a schematic on his kit, I don't think the same is available on Timma's idea, if you were wanting to do it yourself.

I had a spare fuse block from the wreck and I added in female spade connectors to allow for the use of modern blade fuses. I soldered on the connectors and then epoxied them for extra strength. Haven't had time to mount it yet but the multi meter says it works!
