Guys,
Looking to get my engine coolant hoses replaced....they're several years old, and since I'm putting a new engine in....don't want an old hose to mess up my day!
Here is info that I have to date:
Gates Green stripe- 36" length of 1-3/8" bust proof hose for the straight splices everywhere on the car.... GATES #24222 About $24ish from better part houses. Perhaps a little more, couldn't find my receipt.
I went to Kragens today and searched their entire stock of formed hoses, to try and find something like what I have, which fit VERY nicely!
PA 6778492 B71662 This may be for the curve to the "Y" pipe.... or...
* PA 6572275 B71407 I think this might be the bottom hose, from tube to pump.
PROBLEM is that none of these numbers came up, or they didn't have them in stock, and since my notes are not complete, I wasn't going to have them order something......that ultimately doesn't fit.....
Water pump inlet measures 1-3/4
Under car Water pipe is 1-3/8 ( I think the only option here was to use 1-1/2" and clamp the heck out of it!
Y-pipe to Under car Water pipe is 1-3/8 on both ends.
I had used a sort of formed "J" shaped hose here that fits great and is the right diameter...but the kids at the AP store couldn't find anything to match the numbers stamped into the hose.....
SO, my question goes out to all of you....what did you find and what are the industry numbers and names associated with them??????
Post them so that we can all use them in the future!
....before I get all the posts.....yes, I considered the "bend to fit" hoses, but I really am not all that impressed with them when you can get nice neat formed hoses off the shelf.....or rack....or at least I did it last time!!!!!! The bend-to-fit hoses never fit anything I needed in the past....but for the Goose, they may be the only option left....ugh!
Let us know!!!
Steve
