Good luck to them on that roof scoop. There's a LOT of structure up in the Pantera roof that may need to be reworked, all (hopefully) without compromising headroom- which is already at a premium for us taller drivers. And in a roll-over accident, the owner may wish they hadn't cut away structure just for styling. As-stock, a Pantera is very survivable.

The cars that actually need a roof intake are the big-block engine swaps like Jr Wilson' Boss 429 Pantera- no matter what you do, the carb intake winds up close to the roofline. LS engines are so similar in size and shape to a Cleveland, I can't see a roof scoop as necessary. After all, they fit in 'Vettes and Z-28s with very low hoods. The LS-7 has a dry sumps with a nearly flat pan to skinny the motor up even more.
But then, modifiers don't much care. '60s customizer Darryl Starbird once cut up an old Maserati GP racer to make a hot rod. Later he found it was the only car made that year.... one guy offered him 6 figures just for the suspension.
I agree a roof scoop is not needed, but it sure is a way of getting cooler intake air charge. I also can understand about the roof structure - good points Jack.

If you can cut a scoop into the roof you should be able to to make it structral as well and not loose head room as it would be over the center of the car?

Looks like the Ring Bros car will be functional with the still capture. It also looks like they really reworked the bulkhead divider for structure too.
