If anyone would like to "pop in" on our little tour, I installed an active GPS tracking device in my Pantera. You can access the web portal HERE.
Login details are:
Company ID: 1381
Username: detomaso
Password: pantera
Click on MAP ... and then TRACE (from the left side menu of the map). Select any date range from August 3 to August 10 and the "breadcrumb trail" event data will be displayed on the map. You can zoom in/out and use the MAP TIP feature to hover over any specific point.
Unfortunately, the system is filtering out speeds north of 180 km/h. I guess trucks don't usually go that fast!
Plus, these are mountain roads - so it's a little hard to get the cats fully up to speed.

Big brother is watching.
Dudes,
I know that I promised to update the site with daily photos. But I'm in over my head.
You can't imagine the intensity of the schedule. Getting ready for each day then blasting through these unbelievable roads in 104 (40 C) degree heat has been some of the craziest times we've ever had in our cats.
Our normally cool motors are now running at 230 degrees as we blast thru the twisties (we have not seen a major highway yet!) climbing a few thousand feet in minutes. This heat and altitude has left all of our normally reliable east coast killer motors wheezing and coughing.
We're staying on top of it and have lots of brain power with us. And lots of tools and parts, so no one has really broken down (yet). But after dealing with one thing after another, most of us are pretty much wet rags by the end of the day.
With 18 cars on the road, some with 2 cameras mounted, and everyone firing off pics everywhere we go, there are thousands of images and videos to get through. I just can't keep up.
I can tell you that the few images I've posted on the site are nothing compared to what Mark and others (real photographers with real cameras) are shooting.
I hope they will all start posting at soon.
So stick around. Soon enough we'll have some time to regroup and post some totally awesome videos.
No blowups, tickets or crashes yet. And no one is in jail. So it's all good.

Very nice photos, and looks like a real fun event. Day 1 I wish I was there in that parking structure when all the Pants started up! Beautiful roads to ride for sure!

David - just enjoy the trip and worry about us when the dust settles! (Or if someone ends up with time on their hands in the slammer!!) (I don't know whether to joke about that or not??)

The really great photography is coming by those who actually know what they're doing. I just like to be quick. So I point, shoot, shoot off my mouth and post stuff that's all about NOW. But not that good.
Stay tuned for the good stuff that will follow once the good guys have had time to pore over their material, edit, retouch, color correct and so on.
In the meantime, some quickies from DAY 6 and DAY 7 are available HERE.

Mix in some of the twistiest roads on the planet and 140km/h is more than enough, dude ... believe me!
