Another item that I need to tackle before making the drive to Monterey.

I want to add a secondary roll (tension) pin to my stock distributor. What is the corect size to buy?

Also, If I currently have a spring pin, I will need to replace it with 2 roll (tension) pins so I would need to know the sizes for these too.

Thanks in advance,

John

Hi John,

Pull the dizzy and see what you got. Size can vary, as can the diameter of the hole. Then head off to your local hardware store and see what they have that slips inside one another. Then buy the correct drill bit for the biggest one.

Go home, drill/enlarge the hole if needed, install. You could just add another hole and retain the current one, too.

Then drive on down to Monterey! Looking forward to seeing you there - I've arranged a special dancer for you at the Concorso. Big Grin

Hey Larry,

I was hoping to have the pieces in hand before pulling the dizzy. I'll be doing the repairs at Doug Braun's house and want to show up prepared so I don't inconvenience him too much. If I pull the dizzy myself, I will more than likely screw up the timing and then won't be able to drive the car to his house. I don't have a timing light and haven't adjusted timing since I held the light for my dad on our '62 falcon when I was 8 years old. If there is a ballpark size, I can buy an assortment and then just return what I don't need.

Regarding the dancer....bring it on! As long as there are security personnel around I'll get some new paint out of the deal! Just make sure she has high heels like the last one....this time I'll get pictures too!
