Theres no more pics right now. The seller is a little complicated, I will do my best.

Theres good and bad, he said Euro 4000 ($43xx) will not make the deal. I did not say dollar, he is not faniliar with the exchange so I didn't want to calc with him.
The good side is he said the whole set will go with tyres or nothing, he will definitly not split the set.
He is a collector and wants to swap in my set of 7 and 8s... that was not my intention but hes kinda pigheaded fellow.

@Doug
What is your idea in terms of price for such a set.
Maybe we saddle the horse that way.

@Scott
I decided to give any info here hence the jpegs are so big and will not fit any mailserver.

As I said I can not promise a thing, I am just the postman und the buyer, ifso, owes me a 3 liter bottle of champaign. ;-)

Wow, I don't know. I did mention to someone that I was thinking of selling these to go to the "17" Campi look alike's and out of the blue got several offers of $4,000.

I was thinking the 10"s were around $3500.

The 8's are probalbly $250 ea.

The tires...too old...bada boom. Pirellis dry out fast. I wouldn't trust them at all.

Even if I got them for free, I wouldn't pay to ship them.

I think these wheels are like anything else. If you want them, you have to pay enough to get them.

Probably $4000 just for the tens is not unreasonable.

I think what may be effecting the value of them is that the current ones which are aluminum are $1500 each and they are not Capagnolo's.

I'm like everyone else, I try to get the best deal. The answer is 1) find another pair 2) find another pair cheaper?

This pair particularly with the full gussets people want and will probably over pay for them.

How many sets could have been made originally? I still can't find a part number for them?

I am pretty sure that mine do not have a date code one them.

Some of the "type two" I have seen do.

I interpret that, right or wrong, to mean they came out of the first run before they thought of dating them?

100 wheels in that first group? For the Euro Gp3 & 4 race cars? Who knows? All speculation on my part?
A set of yours against the 10s, ok, and how many bucks on top.

I said he is pigheaded... i did not say he is an idiot. Wink

If he would simply switch, i would own them now, no one else.

He laughed about the euro 4000 offer only for the 10s as i wrote earlier.

He would take your 8s and 7s and some funny thousands on top.

Is the 8s front rims same offset as the 8s rear? i think but am not 1000 percent sure.

As I said I can not charge a price, all I know, the $4500 offer was simply answered with a no.

Gilles,
Thank you for the effort.
I cannot use the tires as I already have several sets of tires and it also impacts the shipping price. I would do $4,300 for the rims.
As for Richard, ....pardoning yourself from barging in and requesting to be a second and then starting to work a deal around me speaks volumes about you.....you should know as anyone would.... Respecting others on the Detomaso threads would be in everyone's interest and with integrity. Then again, you are a "Richard"
There is only one 8" wheel offset.

The rear 8's just get moved to the front.

Not to complain about the price of that pair of 10's but they are close to irreplaceable now, 15" high speed rated tires are almost non-existent new, and the polished 17" Campi-look alikes are replaceable and VERY nice.

That's why I was considering selling mine. WAS...as in the past tense of the word IS. Wink

My apologies if I offended anyone ...just got a bit ticked off!
Ok Scott, you give $4300 for the 10s without tires. This is your offer, correct?
Shipping will be on your side?

I will try to make this work. I can try to sell the 8s or keep on my own as a subst.
I shipped hgte rims from my f599 gtb recently, so i know it makes nearly no sense to ship the 8s to the us, the shipping will be to close to their innert value.

Ok, here is my coming out. Some guys are gay, some play the piano, other guys read. we all have a weakness, mine is the 599 gtb i own that i do drive the days when the pantera is just to hard for me. Smiler
it's my cryptonite.

Gilles, too funny...good cryptonite! I love the 599 gtb. Great car! I am rear engine guy and kept my white 458. Sold the 360 manual 6 spd as I could not refuse a high offer. Manual trans Ferrari's are going crazy. I love the ZF in the Pantera so I am not missing the 360.
Let me know if the $4,300 offer is okay.
Thanks
Scott
Hi Scott,

he wants to swap in my set, so I will have to calc if it works out for me.
I think $4500 will help and Ill give anything.
In the end I will need a set of 7 inch ones. Who has a pair of 7 inch campas, cause i will be left with only an 8 inch set.

No, i love the v12, its a bomb. Its so much understatement and the car with the hgte parts only goes 2 seconds slower in fiorano then the enzo. I did 200 miles per hour here in germany on legal roud with it (tachometer, real was maybe 185). I smashed the 300 km/h back in 1997 in a Ruf BTR, which is the barrier of sound for cars in europe.

RUF, Ferrari V12 is nothing compared to a pantera, we all know. You sit in the car an horror "this is porno". Wink

Stuff with the rims including a result will take some time, so stay patient.

regards
I have no skin in this game, but perhaps a measure of price can be gauged by the cost of the new magnesium wheels Marvic is casting, aesthetically identical to originals. They are offering both the early long rib and later alternating 'short' rib design. They come with the added knowledge and peace of mind that you are not buying an unknown in 40 year old wheels.

I have an oem radio delete plate that was fetching $300+ at one time, then someone came out with an identical reproduction, now they are $50 all day long....

Julian
Guy from across the street bought a GT 40 built bei cva i think (South afrika).
"Look, nice car, klima, radio, 6 speed, Audi V8, paddles... they built me any car for 130.000 Pantera, 917, Lola, why buy an original one..."
Not a penny i gonna give for a remake. I would be afraid, no one will buy it, resell is impossible. Radio plate even doubts me I would go for the original one.
Original Pantera Groupe4 cars give $200.000, remakes hardly get $50.000.

By the way, whut will marvic charge? I dont know.

Its just a state of mind.

Giles,
Do you have an estimate on shipping?
I am not sure about $4,500. The rims look to need a bit of restoring. Let's see what we can do. Take the time you need.
That is fast driving my friend. No decent and legal roads in the US....unless you are in New Mexico and Arizona..wide open spaces. The Pantera at 120 feels like a run away shopping cart...but I really like it for being older school. The 458 has tons of hp and is smooth as glass. Then Ferrari comes out with the 488 and the game changes once again!

I drove a couple of the mid-2000's Indy cars on a 2 mile oval. What a blast! Feeling the wind on the helmet and having the downforce to stick to the track. The pros kept saying "trust the car"! They were correct. It was like driving 175 on a highway and getting off the exit without letting off the throttle. Have a lot of respect for those open wheel guys.

Marvic's price was reported to be EUR1,555 for the 10 x 15" wheel.

If you can find an original GP4 for $200K please let me know, from what I see a good clone with FIA papers is fetching that much now.
Scott, I didn't intend to cut you up and I am quite offended by your reply, I could have sent a private message but I don't hide and didn't think I would have to.
I have asked previously on this site and people have stepped in to purchase without any consideration to me! So, I am sorry but I wouldn't have the face to call anybody, especially publicly, after all it's down to the seller in the end and how do you know people have not messaged privately? So good luck in the purchase and for your information the best price I got last year for importing a pair from the states to the UK was $550 but I don't know the other way?
