Speedometer not working

I am having problems getting my speedo to work. The car is a '72 L #4585. I bought the car with a broken cable. I bought a new cable and installed it. I took a drill and put it on the trans side and spun it and saw that the speedo was working. Could it be broke it the 90 deg. fitting? How hard is this to fix? Thanks in advance.

I would take the 90 deg. off and see if it's broken, look at both ends and rotate it.Also check the drive out of the ZF, just roll the car back and forth to see if it turns.

I thought that it was a risky area to take a part on the ZF. I thought that I remember something about if you remove the 90 deg some parts will fall down into the case. That's why I did not tear into it yet. Help

Hey Chuck, No my gas filler is inside the engine area. I have the duel pod dash also. What other differences could we have?

You can remove the 90 deg. just don't remove the set screw that is on the ZF it hold in the main drive gear.
