Not sure where to post this. So I'll post it here.
I took my gear reduction starter to
Gen-Star Electric here in Gendale, AZ.
The started was dead. Just sparks and nothing else.
I dropped it off yesterday at 3 PM, it was ready today at 4. He replaced the Brushes, Solenoid, all contacts and the bearings. He very much overhauled it completely. He also, clear coated the silver and painted the black.
It went back on the car tonight is it's perfect. Just like new, probably better. It turns a new 10.5 compression motor like it's nothing.
He charged ne $75.35. This may or may not be a great price, but it sure beats the hell out of buying a new one of equal starting power for $350.00
If anyone is interested, here's his info.

Gary is the owner and a very nice guy.
He also said he can build and sell them for less than $250.00. He's working on an exact configuration and price.
Where does the spacer/adapter come from ? He can have them made, but he needs one to work with for the mold. Anybody have one that can be used ?
I would have let him use mine, but I am driving my car tomorrow finally, so he was SOL with mine.
Just thought I would pass this along.
