The resin has enough surface tension so that it will act like a water drop and round off when it reaches the edge of the support. We use to do many auto stickers (prototypes for production) by printing the logo/image on 3M covering type film and then carefully using a dropper, apply liquid resin from the center outward until it reached the edges. Then can go back and add more to get extra thickness. The product we used was a Urethane two part mix and did have a certain flexiblity once set up. For the pieces I just made I used another product that is called "Glazing Resin" and it sets up harder and does the same effect. (actually got it from a crafts store!)  The center caps should be on a metal support? and you can just lay them down on foil and add the product. Or, you can put it on something like a socket from the tool box to raise and then add the resin. My badges were printed on a metal chrome support but I just laid them out on foil. I just received another product..today actually.. and it is another resin and I am going to do another test. Just another project  against retirement!  Here is a ink to a source in the US of A for the resin I used as in my photos https://www.dickblick.com/item...uDBdWC83g2l-j5Skivaf

Have fun, Dan
