FYI: If you are considering the red Pantera for sale on Ebay (600675965), I looked at the car a couple of weeks ago. The engine, once it warmed up, sounded strong, didn't smoke, and was fairly loud. The interior was nice and the seats were comfortable, with the typical non-visible guage package. The transmission seemed to shift well, but I didn't actually drive the car on the road.

So far it sounds ok, but here's the bad news: This is definitely a "20 footer" at best. Every panel has bondo, checking, and/or waves in it. Yes, even the upper panels and the deck cover. It would need to be stripped to whatever is underneath. This is definitely a car with some expensive work to be done unless someone wants it just to street race and park in dark shadows.

Just my opinion. Oh, his reserve was $25000, but may be less now.

I also took a look at this one, and I concur on the paint. TERRIBLE! I did drive it, tho. Ran well, shifted well into all gears and had no whine or popping out-of-gear issues. Most electrics worked fine (slow window), brakes were fine, idled and ran smooth. Campys were very roughly re-painted. Can you do your own paint and are willing to deal with unseen issues (RUST??). If so, then it is probably worth 20K--23K. Just my 2
Maybe even a little less.

I talked with a guy in the Bay Area (S.F.) who had just sold one better than this for $16K. I didn't jump on his ad because I thought the car was either a basket case, or gone in the first day. Dumb! Ya gotta check 'em all out. People sell cars for all kinds of reasons...not just to unload them.

The search goes on.....
