Thanks George, these old eyes missed it, probably pluged and (thickly) painted over on my motor. BTW, I installed the same waterpump pictured last week, nice piece. The upper nipple shown is not needed, right, as the coolant for the heater flows from the top of the block through the heater core and back to the bottom nipple (or vise versa). I reinstalled my vacuum switch for the distributor in the upper port (although i don't use it)..

Also, install a drain petcock in the expansion tank where the thermostat used to be. It will allow you to drain only the top half of the cooling system for future themostat changes.
