How do I set Initial timing on my car? I was told I have a timing problem. My 72 pantera has a 30 over 351 cleveland, Closed chambered Heads, 588 lift, 310 dur. The Holley Carb is a 780 vac. I feel I have low vac. When I stop at the light it runs ruff N conks out. When I start it up Black smoke comes out, then clears. It has a choke which I wired open. Any Ideas. I called Barry Grant, He says I have a idle timing problem, What1s that? How do I do that?
