Torque on the stub axel in the upright

Hi guys,i am trying to torque the stub axel in the upright off the car,i got 250 ft pounds with a torque wrench,i have the use of a torque multipler but with the spaner nut counld not get it to stay straight on the spaner nut does anybody have any recommendations? ,ive been told 350 to 400 ft pounds,maybe on the car ìt will be eaiser ,any thoughts or help would be great,my borrowed torque wrench only goes to 250.
