Looking to trade this set of chrome early bumpers for a set of early euro bumpers. The right one has a slight bend to it and the mounting bracket is tweeked as can be seen in the pics. Any takers?
FWIW, those look like late pre-L bumperettes by the rounded corners on the inner-edges. 71 Pantera and early pre-L cars have squared edges on the inner edges. I'm sure George or others can clarify when the change over occurred.
Question for my own understanding: What do early euro bumpers look like? Are they similar to these bumperettes, but without the surround for the turn signal?
FWIW I bought a set of Euro bumpers from Roland. All they do is cut the turn signal "housing" out and weld in a "flat" piece. Weld bead was quite thin in some places.
thanks Husker. I saw a post on that mod awhile ago. Before I start cutting (having someone else cut - since I don't know how to weld yet) I thought I would try and save a pair of these rair bumpers before hacking them up.

If you plan to paint them you could use your originals as a mold to make a set of fiberglass or Kevlar euro bumperettes, and still preserve the originals.

I bought a pair at the factory in 2001. They are not modified US bumperettes. They are one piece stampings. They were available in chrome or black.
Maybe mine weren't factory after all. Interesting. One piece stamping would've been FAR superior. Also, the mounting brackets were in a different location than the stock bumpers for #1797.
