How do I remove the dual pod dash from my car?

I'm really tired of getting into this beautiful Italian car and being surrounded by cheap, ugly plastic! And the design of the dual pod is simply awful.

I'd like to go with a late model leather dash with burlwood.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Actually, the L dash is pressed plastic with no covering! Its been done, but its a nasty job.

Even though it is plastic, the L-model dash is still a HUGE improvement over the awful and anti-ergonomic dual pod dash.

I'm actually looking to replace my dual pod dash with an even later model leather unit.

Thanks,

I pulled my dual pod dash twice for AC changes, documenting it in the '99 POCA newsletter with photos. Just pulling the dash is bad enough- replacing it with a late dash is MUCH more trouble because DeTomaso redesigned the heater/AC evaporator box between the early & larte dashes. So the heater controls are different, the defroster vents and hose locations have changed on the boxes, and the early console doesn't fit correctly to the late dashboard. To do this job correctly, you need a whole late dash, console and heater box. Try to find someone either parting out a late car or building a race car from a rust-bucket, or buying a '73-up Pantera complete.
