Unusually small headlights?

There was a younger guy a few years ago that was making his own headlight conversion. I don't recall the size of the headlights but I know they were small. I don't recall if he ever posted completed pictures. His workmanship looked pretty top notch.

Went looking through the history and found him. LittoDeVil. Unfortunately his pictures didn't open. And he's from San Francisco so I doubt its his.

I believe these were from a late 80's chevy or GMC pickup. As I recall they only come in high beam or low beam, no hi/low.

I don't think those are the GM lamps. The one's you're referring to did go on some model pick up truck and the Trans Am. They are approx. 3 x 5" and had flutes in the lens.
The GM plant I was in made them. These look like clear lenses.
They look real nice on the car, but I doubt legal.

I remember seeing and taking to the owner many moons ago at Laguna Seca about these very low profile headlights back in the 80's. I believe his name was Bud Moore but not certain. There was a more recent article about him on Profiles. I'll have to check.

Would that be "the Bud Moore"?

I think you are talking about Bud Williams. He has the small GM headlights in his red car.

Those look very much like the ones I used when I ditched my pop ups many years ago. If so, they're JC Whitney items - I think they still sell them. Not DOT approved.

My headlights open 2 3/4 inches I am running L.E.D.'s, plus 2 6" L.E.D.'s in the grill that come on as the brights. The car has great illumination now and no one flashes me for being to bright. LEGAL? You must be joking.
