My GT5 clone has a much wider flare than Emery's red car. Unless perhaps he emailed the wrong photo.

What are Hall Ultra wheels anyway?

Steve

The GT-4 was the lemans race car and had steam roller tires under her. The Hall Ultras are Wheels they made for what they called the Ulta-Pantera. It was a car that they would upgrade like crazy for about a hundred grand. If you ever can find one of the twenty they built, grab on to that puppy. They were awesome cars.
But anyway, they had campy make them I think, they are like two wheels bolted together. These have knock off hub caps that are held on by lug nuts. It is kinda complicated to explain so I will post a pic of my car with these wheels on it.

Right you are JK. I am getting a little tired of wondering everytime I approach a bridge weather or not my tires will rub if I go over it. Plus my car doesn't handle nearly as well as it used to cause it is jacked up in the air like that. I want to lower her back down again like in the old days. I want to go retro. Smiler
Well that is whyyou need the aluminum billet spacers that come with it. The tires won't rub on your car because it is an american speccar. If you use the spacers. Thye rims are blacked out in a star pattern in the middle yes, they are also slotted like our campies. The specs are Front are Dunlop SP Sport 8000 radials, 245 / 40 ZR17 and the rears are 335 / 35 ZR 17. Now they do have scuffs and scraps in the sidewall near the tread as they have scrapped my fenders. They have about 4000 miles total on them and have lots of tread, but like I said they are scuffed so you may want to replace them after you get your body kit to win car shows with. I paid almost six grand for this set up new back in 97, but I am only looking to get something around three for them.
Kids at car shows love them and the wing, but now I am more interested in what I think and not kids. I just want to drive my car and not worry about being cool anymore. But that is my problem and sorry to bore you with it. You still interested??

Michael

Because I wasn't smart enough to think of that myself. Smiler It is funny because my wife said the same thing you just did last night. I was planning on taking them off this fall anyway weather or not I sell them. People do love the super wide tires. They comment on them constantly. I may just save them and only put them on for car shows. Wink

Without taking the tires off the rims I don't really know for sure. They are what is recommended though because I bought them as a matched set. They are two piece rims. If you have a Hall Pantera catalog you can look them up in that. I am not sure if they still make them or not. Heck for all I know you can get them cheaper brand new. Have you checked out their offerings yet?? I know a lot of people don't like their stuff but I think everything I have ever gotten from them has been top notch quality.
Hall does not make the wheels anymore so it you bend one you are out of luck. So you paid Hall over $1100 per wheel?????????
I'll trade you my 17" Cobra 5 spokes in chrome for them. Send me your email address and I can send some pics to you. The file is too large for this forum. Unless someone knows how to reduce the size of a picture on CD.

It appears we have a misunderstanding. I paid Hall $2900 plus shipping and handling for just the wheels. There was other hardware like the hubs and spacers that were additional. The tires were expensive because back then there wasn't a lot of 17" anything out there. It was not my intention to have you believe I am somehow trying to rip you off in some way. I misunderstodd that you had a group four car that would readily accept these wheels. My bad. But I found your response somewhat surprising. Let us just agree to dissagree. No need for insults here. I wish you luck in your endevors of finding what you are after.
