Thanks guys !
I here Michael Shortt has a 3 located that are for sale and Jack Sharkey at Pantera of Miami has 6 for sale. Not sure if they own these cars or are helping owners sell them but those two guys are where I would start. Seem rare that 9 GT5S cars would all be for sale. I imagine that both guys are marketing 3 of the cars. Nonetheless, a starting point.
I still haven’t found one ! I am still looking ! Thanks
Maybe more detail of what it is specifically you are looking for, if the 6 available through Jack Sharkey are not to your liking?
I’d look at any ! Why would I want to pay a middleman ?
I doubt that he owns those. Been there.
still looking !!
I would pay the middleman because they have access to a rare product (in several color combinations) that you are looking for. I would go in with a price in mind, no different than buying from a sole owner and try and come to terms. It doesn't really matter who is getting what portion of the funds if both parties are happy with the transaction price and product. If there are other reservations with that business (that does not need to be disclosed here on an open forum) or you are looking for specific options that's a different story.
Good luck with your search.
Thanks but I’ll keep looking. I think that’s what this site is all about, looking and hunting for parts, cars and information !
Buying from the previous owner and knowing the whole story on the car and not just having a salesman trying to make a buck is different.
I am still looking guys. If you’re thinking about selling give me a call. I’ve had quite a few Panteras and would love to move up to to a GT5-S. Thanks !
I am not real picky as to color or if it’s a Amerisport or Detomaso.

Hi Larry,
One for sale in France : www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/2277694613.htm
That’s interesting. Has anybody on here ever bought a car from France and had it shipped here ?
Leboncoin is full of scammers, I'm sure you will do your own due diligence.
Lots of agencies that help with shipping, customs and import, it's not hard, just need to knwo the ropes. Get it to a port and in a container. Import should be fairly simple as it's over 25 years old and low duties.
If you're open to a "conversion", maybe this would be of interest: Pavesi Targa Conversion. This car has a well documented history in Europe.
The current seller, Speed 8 Classics, has sold many De Tomaso cars. So easy to check "references". They also have the experience to help ensure a successful delivery into the USA.
Expensive but unique. I for one would like a targa although not sure I would spend that much premium, with that being said I am sure a targa conversion is very expensive with the beefing up of the structure. Good looking car.
I am still looking guys for a GT5-S !
You know of one let me know !

Still looking guys !
I even contacted the dealer with the blue Targa in Belgium. It’s the first Targa but not a GT5-S. I would even considered it but the windshield is delaminating, rubber around the top is partially gone and the car from pics looks like it could really use paint. 🙁
I am still looking for that GT5-S !!

Larry,
I have seen this Targa in person, Paint is good, replacing the windshiled is a small isseu , the rubber on the targa top/body is a universal rubber . I know the dealer is open for offers.
it's the first Pantera Targa build , converted to GT5-S spec's. rebuild PIM Motorsport Hammer engine .

I don’t know anything about the condition of the blue targa. But having had some experience with the seller of that car, I can confirm he’s very honest and easy to work with. I suspect he’d welcome a ‘3rd party inspection’, if you wanted, to get another unbiased in person assessment of the paint condition (in addition to Simon’s).
That Targa conversion was done right to, all factory sheet metal, not like many of the US conversions that use the hand formed patch panels on the fenders. IMO with some OEM Campi's on, it would really start to look the part and still has the provenance of being the first Pavesi Targa.
Guys, I can tell you this, I have talked to them about the issues I have with the car. For starters the windshield, I don’t know if you have ever installed a flush mounted windshield but I have. The windshield needs to be removed and the the new flush mount has to be fitted into that opening. The opening on this has probably been changed due to the fact that being a Targa and the post have been reworked and probably resized and reshaped. That means more reshaping of the opening and that can’t be done without metal work, filling and paint. That means painting completely around the windshield and hoping you can get a color match. Even in the pics I can see that the painted inner fender wells are scratched up up probably from seating the targa top on them.
I can also see some issues with paint chips around the car also. If I can see these in pictures I don’t need a third party inspection. That tells me I am looking at a complete paint job. By the way, where do you get on line to order the new rubber around the Targa opening ? The car is rare and has potential but just doing that can involve a lot of work. I really wasn’t looking for a project but for a nice GT5-S !
Thanks but Iam looking for a nice GT5-S

Larry , I dont agree with you about the windshield , the opening is not been changed . Also not agree about your other comments. There are no new Targa rubbers availabel, I have owned a few Targa's and still has 2 , and all have different hand made rubbers.
The scratces on the rear inner fender came from the fiberglas trunk tube .
The Targa roof is hanging under the rear deck lid.
All Pantera's Targa's are converted by Pavesi by hand.
I respect your opinion , but please dont brake down a car or write BS about this Pantera which you anyway dont want to buy.
Regards
Simon
Simon, Everything I said is fact.
has your windshield delaminated yet ? I’ve put those flush mounted windshields in and I know what’s involved! Do you ? That windshield hasn’t delaminated for no reason either.
I am not wanting to down grade the car but when it’s on a dealer showroom that stuff needs to be taken care of.
Larry, I know more about windshields than you think , delaminated winshields are all the time on Ferrari,s , Lamborghini's and othe car brands too.
For now I want to stop this discussion , there is already to much war on the planet.
Lets focus to find a nice GT5-S for you.
Regards
Simon

Wow, Dorsey still has his car?
I still haven’t found what I am looking for ..

Hi everyone, just joined with a view to buying a wide body Pantera. Sorry to hijack the thread, but what do people think about the light blue gt5s at Speed 8 Classics?
That car looks nice, not my color but it looks very well kept and clean. Good luck, I own 9426 and they are great head turners. Good luck with your search and purchase.
Larry - there's a GT5-S up for auction on Hemmings
