Hi,
I am from Australia, so can't look at many locally. I am looking at bringing one in from where ever it comes from.
What I am looking for is, must be 30 years or older for customs taxes reasons, pref 72 or earlier.
Now I do not quite understand models, but I do like wings and spoilers, I know some say it ruins the car, but I like them. wide wheels are also nice. Also a clean nice looking engine bay.
Motor condition i do not care for as I build clevelands everyday. prefer California ( shipping is cheaper !) nice paintwork.
Price well I do not have a lot to spend as shipping and taxes take a lot of the costs. prefer under 35k. the white one pim had I liked, but it may be sold Frowner .
I am fairly new to this so am open to any suggestions and all the advise you can give.
ThanksSmiler

I did see on the email list this morning that there is now a tribute Gr4 for sale. I think it was Mike Drew who posted that.

Yep, but it was $60K. It's a '71 GP4 conversion and apparently a big trophy winner, here's the photo, sure looks sweet.

Ok, keep an eye out, they should be there in 10! By the way, how much is it to get one sent from California...we were looking at this option too but all the taxes and charges make it pretty pricey. Also, I would rather see something for myself before spending the kids inheritance!!

I have to say that I'm leaning that way at the moment especially seeing as I just found out that you can bring a car over for a lot less than I was originally quoted! Looks like I'm going to have to start scouring the web again for a decent car in the US...Anyone know of a nice GT5S going cheap Big Grin...
I know of a '72 GT5-S conversion in yellow. I haven't seen it in person, but I'm told it's pretty decent and just gone through by a reputable Pantera guy. I believe it still has the '72 interior. Asking price was $42K, which if what I have heard is true would be a bargain.
Well today I heard te car is all but sold, unless an offer over $40K comes post haste.

Tomorrow I'll have an opportunity to stop by and take some photos of it, but for now here is a good honest low down from a renowned Pantera expert who is selling the car on behalf of the owner.

So the search is on again ! I am cashed up and ready to go.

Please help !!!!!!
Hi,
Prefer a 73 or earlier, 72 is best.
Prefer a car with a wing, prefer modified.prefer no writing on the side.
Prefer one in CA or be able to get it to LA at low cost.
I do not care if it is not original, I do not care if the engine needs work. What does impress me is a clean engine bay ( body colour) and a polished gearbox !
My budget can stretch to 40k if need be.
Thanks

Mine has writing on the side and the tranny is filthy and it still has the original undercoating and I live a long ways from California and it could really use a new paint job and has some rust, so I don't think you want my car, but if you get desperate, it is only fair that everyone has a Pantera and I have had mine for ten years now. Maybe we could time share??
You know, They all say they are money pits and so on, my friends all suggest other cars, I went and looked at a pantera locally the other day, and yes, it was hard to get in and out, my feet barely fitted in the pedal area, and my head hit the roof on the passenger side, but when it started up and had that muscle car sound, it was so done !! no way I would even consider another car ! the particular car I looked at is not for me.but it had all the pantera qualities !!I must say I will have to learn to get in and out of it as that does seem to be a bit of a trick !!I was hoping to have one soon, as I had a car show planned for it at christmas time, and needed time to get it , register it and get it all pretty for the show, but looks like it will have to be next year !! oh well. Still want one, now more than ever !!
Well, first off I must say a MASSIVE thank you to Julian ( Joules5) who helped me and guided me with some car advice and suggestions. and while my ultimate car got sold to another party Frowner I have secured another one, which is also talking to me, although not as loud, I will fix it up to my tastes, then I will be 'king of the kids !!'
Once the money has changed hands I will let out with all the details !!
I am all excited !! like a kid on Xmas eve !!
Oh and thank you to EVERYONE on this forum, who helped me and gave me advise, and made me so determinned to join this De Tomaso Pantera revolution Smiler
