According to Service Manual & Parts Listing:
The connection of the two water pipes from under the body and connecting to the two radiator water inlet and outlets calls for four 4" hoses. When attempting to connect the water pipe on the left, I am approx 6-7 inches away from the upper radiator outlet, and it is putting a bind on the hose at the underbody pipe. What am I doing wrong?
The upper radiator outlet I'm connecting to the water pipe with the "bleed" nipple, then to the left under body pipe which will connect to the water pump - right? This is the connection that is far from connecting with the 4" hoses.
The lower radiator inlet, I'm connecting to the water pipe, then to the right under body water pipe which isn't giving the problem of the upper connection .

if you don't mind I copied the illustration from a Katolog I found so I can visulize your discription
"...upper rad outlet..water pipe w/bleed..left under body pipe...water pump

..lower rad inlet...right under body water pipe..(swirl)"

from this illustration it looks like
Upper w/bleed to right to pump
Lower to left to swril

What your illustration depicts is exactly where I am working. The #18&19 pipes joining the underbody pipes to the radiator indicates #13 hoses which are all 4" hoses. When I attempt to connect the left side pipe to the radiator, the alignment is off considerably and the distance of the pipe to the radiator is approx 6-7 inches away.
Now to add more confusion. I have an illustration which essentially shows the same information as yours; the upper radiator outlet connects to the "air bleed" tube, to the right underbody tube, then to the water pump. The problem I see in doing it this way is when you get to the bulkhead and connect pipe #11 and hose #15 to the underbody pipe, you are crossing over pipe #12A.
There are a number of posts whereas left side is the upper radiator to water pump. Since I am in early stages of 3639, just want to do it right so I don't have to do it over.
Thanks again for the info.
