I know there are a lot of posts re the right thermostats, but I don't know if this is thermostat related.

I never had cooling problems and since installing a new Fluidyne the temps are even lower than before.

Recently I noticed that while cruising on the highway, at a consistent speed, the temp gauge will suddenly climb up from 180 to 200 and then fall back down to 180 all within a few minutes, with no change in speed or conditions.

Any ideas?

I am about 110% certain that it is most defiately maybe your thermostat.

What you described is a sticking thermostat. Most thermostats when they fail, fail closed.

The sudden rise and fall back is a classic symptom. Trust me on this one. Change it. It certainly won't hurt.

Now can I get some details on the radiator? Is it made for the Pantera?
