Can anyone tell us what this dash pull-knob does on a pushbutton Pantera?  It’s the one to the right of the radio.  The one below it was an aftermarket mod for the antenna control switch.

I thought I had seen a thread describing it, but wasn’t able to find it.

Another interesting thing I noticed on this early pushbutton Pantera is that this van is stamped into the underside of the deck lid.  You guys probably knew all that, but I sure didn’t…

Chuck,

That was part of a modification that was done to the ventilating system. There was a placard below the knob that reads "PULL FOR FLOOR" (missing on a few of the early cars).  Pulling the knob directs air to both foot wells. It is referred to as a "Field Fix". This mod removed the duct from the center defroster vent and added two ducts to the two foot wells. It was more involved than that, but that was the end result.  Search for "field fix".  Not sure if this link will work.

That three digit VIN appears just about everywhere on the car.  Here's mine.  Note the additional stampings near the top of this pic.  Not sure what was going on there....maybe a "5" over a "9" and something else?  And another curved mark slightly to the left.
