I don't want the refrigerator look! (ok more wise cracks go here) lol If you have a paint # that would be great I could go to the paint store and check it out.

Mine is white and I love the fact that it is easy to touch up. I have recently seen a few cars that are just off-white and they look kind of dirty. Plus, anything that has a tint starts to become a matching problem. If you like white, do white. Pure white.

I read a study recently regarding car colors. It has been proven that when men drive in white color cars, their testosterone level decreases by as much as 80%(read:GAY). Some men, in fact, after driving in a white car, have gone out and bought assless leather chaps and waved the rainbow flag.
I'm not sure if this is true, but why do Berman and Charlton always share a room on our roadtrips?

Then there's the question of which car is more powerful, a white car or a red car?

The answer is here ...

White Car vs. Red Car

I'd suggest a quick trip to either an Auto Mall, or a large used car dealership to have a look at the different whites available from the various car manufacturers. Then you can see how they look in real life (vs. a bunch of swatches at a paint shop or an online gallery) - then you just grab the paint code from the one you like best and don't look back.

The good thing about white is (as Mark's picture shows) that you'll be the only one who can find your car at the Italian Car festivals.
I know I asked for input BUT this is more info then I need to know! Assless leather chaps, rainbow flags, and keeping tabs on Berman and Charlton! Buddy you got to much time on your hands! lol

First off, I don't care if your car is faster then my car, (lol) But you do have a good point about going to the Auto Mall.

A good friend of mine always had either white or black cars -- but mainly white exteriors. It did not bother me too much until it dawned on me one day. So after years, I finally asked him; why do you only have white or black cars? I was shocked when he told me he was color blind -- and all my cars looked bad, because they were not white or black. Well, that explained a lot.........

OK, first off, just because Will needed to add wide-ass flares and black paint to compensate for his um, "diminutive tool", doesn't mean that everyone who drives a white car is gay ("not that there is anything wrong with that" - J. Seinfeld) — although a preference for pearl white IS a good indicator that you might be.

White is the practical choice for those of us who are too lazy to keep our cars spotlessly clean and ding-free. We can get away with cheaper paint jobs (leaves more beer money) and don't need to waste money getting our A/C recharged either. Black is great for people who like to show off their wretchedly excessive wealth. Red is for people who really wanted a Ferrari but were too cheap to buy one (or can't afford the maintenance). I can't really deride people who have yellow or orange cars because they have enough problems. Of course, if you go for silver, you just want to blend in with all the Buicks and Audis.

I had my car repainted a couple months back, and spent literally years agonizing over the color.

My car is a GT5-S, and was painted Pearl White by the factory. When I bought the car, I was originally planning on painting it because I wasn't thrilled with white, but it eventually grew on me, and I really liked the original color. It had shades of purple and pink - like a pearl (duh!) when the sun hit it from certain angles.

I spoke to the Factory numerous times, as well as Carrozzeria Campana, who apparently painted the late-model Panteras. Nobody was able to give me a paint code.

I eventually went to a shop that had a magic machine that is supposed to be able to duplicate any paint... Even so, they made 30 samples for me, with more or less pearl effect, until we came up with a recipe that was more or less identical to the original.

Even so, it is close but not identical, but I'm happy.

I'd recommend going to a paint distributor - PPG, Sikkens, etc - and looking through their catalogs. They have a HUGE catalog of existing colors. You would have to have after a really special color if you can't find something you like in the catalogs.
Doug,

Have you even noticed that guy who looks back at you from the mirror every morning? Wink

I'm really just jealous. Although I don't have any desire for a black or red (don't even ask about silver...) Pantera, yellow and orange are by far my favorite colors for them.

Now that we have totally highjacked this thread.

Curvee,
My sons car is painted lexus pearl white and it is stunning, especially at night under the lights. But it is impossible to match for touching up stone chips and such. I believe the paint code is R34 but if you call a toyota dealer and ask for the lexus SC400 pearl white code i'm sure they will give it you.

My car was white with black lowers when I bought it (as seen to the left). Restoring now, seems it was originally white too. When I'm done, it won't be white again. It shows every speck of dirt, and the body gaps contrast too harshly for my taste. I'm leaning toward a cobalt blue, something like lambolp400s.
