Has anyone had any experience dealing with Stafford Vehicle Components Ltd. overseas for their wiper motor or wiper assemblies? I am getting ready to make an order for the complete assembly and personally I have no experience with overseas vendors. This one seems nice enough but VERY slow in communications. Would just like a comfortable feeling in the stomach before I give credit card info to someone over the pond.

Thanks,
Angelo

Thats what I hear, but after searching and calling multiple places, I found this dealer will make me up a COMPLETE wiper system, tubes, gearboxes, motor, etc to my measurements (stock) for the price others are selling just the motor. IF I get the assy as promised and it installs correctly, I'll post my findings and costs for others either good or bad.

Thanks,

Angelo, I personally have yet to find a 'bad' Pantera wiper motor. I've found corrosion inside the multiconnector to the motor, slipping drive cables up under the cowl from wear (easily fixable), stuck Lucas reverser switches inside the black plastic box on top of the motor, and once, a disintegrated dash switch, but never a bad motor. What exactly are the symptoms? Note- by removing the motor & drive and cleaning out the 35-year-old, rock-hard grease inside, then regreasing and lubing the motor bushings, any wiper will work better- guaranteed!

Thanks for the reply. I think after seeing the inside of mine, you will agree it is bad, shot, toast, just a glob of rust. I ended up getting an assy from SVC, have not installed it yet since I do not have the shield for the motor, reason for motor condition. I see by your posts you are VERY knowledgeable about the Pantera. Believe me, that is a LIFESAVER for someone like me to fall back on and hopefully not make costly or dangerous mistakes.

Thanks,
Angelo
