Que pasa tios!!! (Wasssup dudes!!)

How do I find which way my wipers lie?? My car had none when my car was bought and they are disadjusted when I tried my daily's driver wipers on the pantera..so they just too much to the LH or too little to the RH. Logic indicates it must be a LH...BUT!!!!!!!

ANy idea of how much will a pair of original chrome ones should cost???

I know that on the US versions, all wipers park on the left except the 74 model whick parks on the right.

That would mean they would park right in front of the driver on a left-hand drive car.

I haven't seen all that many non-US cars but the ones I have seen all park on the left.
It would appear that the only exception to the rule is the US '74 model.

If you look through the photos here on the PI Forum, it seems to confirm this even with the GT5 and GT5s.
I know that if a person imported a non-US car themselves into the US, there will be a metal tag pop-riveted to the drivers doorjamb. The tag will have the name of that person and the date.
I think that one can identify the US cars by the serial number of the car. I am not 100% certain about that though. I think that there are some non-us cars built in between the US run.
CowBoyFromHell, I just call him GP since he is a Pantera Executive, can confirm it as a US car from the number.

I think that only the 74 US cars park the wipers on the right side. You can change this by changing the wiper grills and the location of the wiper pivots from one to the other.

There may be other parts involved internally, I don't know. I haven't done the change. Mine is stock. I have contemplated changing to the 74 location but thosed parts are difficult to find used and are pretty expensive new.

GP's car is a '74. I don't know if the switch over is worthwhile.
It is nice to have an unobstructed view as a driver. It is also nice to have the wiper/washer feature on the car.

Sometimes you need to clean things off of the windshield without stopping, i.e., bugs, dead cowboys, pieces of police motorcycles, Ferrari Guice loafers, etc.

Below is a photo of my '74 when I was first buying it, note the position of the wipers when parked....they now reside in the front trunk for an emergency only situation. I use Rainex and the water beads right up over the car.

If your wiper posts are toward the left side of the vehicle the wipers park on the right and vice versa. If you do require wiper parts they are readily available in Europe as the system is a Lucas one from a Mini/Jaguar/Landrover.

Also check you have 95 degree of wiper sweep, just in case someone replaced the motor with a generic Lucas one as sweep gearing is model specific despite being the same motor.
