As for starting out on your own in business, it sounds like you're doing the right thing in parting ways with your former partners.

Thanks for the well wishes guys, I'm a Master licensed electrician who spent too much time with the wrong people. At 36, I think it's about time I broke away. Especially after getting screwed on a deal that I brought to the table and running a pretty large part of the operation for the last 10 years. It's amazing what people do for money. No great secrets here, I know things are bad but I'm full of surprises. The kid on the other hand has me shaking in my boots!!

Good luck on both events. I stlit with my partners 15 years ago. Walked away from a 2 million dollar a year business and haven't looked back since. It's a scary event at first wondering when the next project is coming in and weather you'll get paid on time to meet the bills. Just keep looking forward It"ll be worth it in the end. By the way the other guys didn't make it with out me. Have a Merry Christmas and best of luck in the new year.

You will not have any problem as an Electrician in NY. I;m in the HVAC / Plumbing Business and even going into these tough times .. there are plenty of small jobs.

I too have a 18 month old and in 2 weeks we will have baby # 2 ... very exciting and amazing.

You will finally have someone greeting you at the door ..other then the dog ! LOL

I had partners too. They wanted my 'expertise" After they got what they wanted. they said "Billy' Billy, you did not really think you were going to be one of the boys did ya'" I was devistated. But now I have my own business and no partners. You will be better off without them. Consider it a turning point and congradulations...
