ZF-1 versus ZF-2

In my car search, I am finding both ZF cases. I have some questions:

Are there any practical differences in function or durability between the two?

Do the different mounting point styles really make any difference?

What is an easy way to tell them apart; I believe the dash 1 has a tranny to bellhousing bolt at 12 o'clock while the dash 2 has bolts at 11 and 1 o'clock. Correct?

The ID tag is on the left side of the ZF on the shift housing. It will say ZF 5DS25-1 or-2 in the lower left corner of the tag.
Both the -1 and -2 are good ZF's as long as they in good working order.
