According to some older gents in my family, they used to hold 1-mile long, standing-start drag races at that raceway. Allegedly, they went 3 and 4 cars wide.
How much of that story is beer-fueled bluster? I would like to know.
...What a Great Film!! Those were the Good Ole' Days! I was in High School, Earning Scholarships in Both Machine Shop and ROTC. I worked a After school job, Fridays and Saturdays, Saved and Saved and at 16, bought My Own Car! A 65 Mustang! If They were there, Respect Your Elders, Beer or No Beer!
