71 Blower Motor Replacement

I'm in the middle of replacing the blower motor on my 71. I've ordered and have the replacement VDO PM381 motor mentioned in many posts. Problem is my original motor is evidently an early version. The original motor has open windings and is not an enclosed version like the new. The original mounting bracket will not cross over.
Any suggestions on how to hang the new motor.

Here is a picture with both styles. Totally different mounting methods. I had the original motor rebuilt today and will install tomorrow. One of the brushes was stuck. Thanks for the help.

The only issue with rebuilding these motors is that if the brushes are gone, the copper windings probably are also. They develope high resistance due to being overheated. They were not high quality items to begin with.

My motor had a number stamped into it that cross referenced to the vdo motor number. Yours may have one too.

I looked and I couldn't find any model number anywhere. The brushes were not worn out, one was just stuck to the point it had to be drilled out.
