I have a Ford a/c compressor brand new never
used , looks like for a '96, what model I
don't know. I'd like to change out the serpentine pully for a V-belt pully.Called
a few places no one knows where I can get one
who to call, who makes compressors for Ford.
Anyone out there have any experience or
knowlege of the afore mentioned? Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

All the non-York compressor adaptions I've seen in Panteras have been Sankyo or another of the Japanese-made. They work very well with either R-12 or R-134a freons. Sankyo even makes an adapter bracket for use in an OEM York bracket. On your Ford unit- the serpentine belt pulley and maybe the magnetic clutch will have to be changed, or else you change the whole drive-pulley arrangement on your 351-C. I'd also be curious as to which direction this compressor normally runs- a vee belt drive may reverse it and some accessories don't like to turn backwards. The adaption cost may be high enough to make it cheaper to throw your compressor away & buy a rebuilt Sankyo!
