Emery,

I have a rotary installed by Quella.

It is a Sanden model SD508, Sanden part number S8390.

Two groove pulley.

Cross referenced to a 1981-1987 Subaru Brat.

I am positive about the Sanden part number, not positive about the Brat cross reference.

Go to'www.master auto parts.com' and they have a rebuilt for $74. They also show up on ebay now and then.

Larry

Thanks for the replies guys. Suburu Brat!!! Gotta love it! Thanks for the part numbers. Just checking that yours is a r134 compressor? Or it doesn't matter I guess...won't they work on both systems?
Anyways, yeah bill I got it working down to 37 degrees but a week later it all leaked out Frowner finally got around to trying it again w/ some dye and the compressor started spewing r134 out of a small relief valve on the back of the compressor....replaced that and refilled and it started spewing out the front of the compressor behind the clutch!!! Probably where my leaks where! It's spewing before it's up to full charge...i'm not over filling it. What i'm thinking is that it was originally a R12 system..it was flushed/vac down and refilled with R134. Maybe it didn't like the r134 and ate up the seals??? Whadaya think? Big Grin
HHmmmmmm That makes sense! Yep I changed the drier when I put in the new condensor but since it's been vaccumed down a couple times and the vent valve removed and now have to replace the compressor...I guess I should put a new drier in again huh?
I'll hav eto look for the thread on the expansion valve clogging. Where else could it clog?
